Excuses, Excuses

Tonight’s planned hotel blogging will not be happening due to a much longer than intended commute time today.

Americans, rest assured that your Border Protection officers are doing an excellent job of preventing Canadians from sneaking into your county without a thorough examination. Also, they are very friendly, very interested in the intricacies of software architecture, and very detail-oriented in their work.

Additionally, the people of Maine and Massachusetts can rest assured that your road work projects are under way, with significant sections of the interstate system through your states undergoing constant work to improve their infrastructure throughout the night.

I am not sure who should rest assured that my very-lovely-to-look-at hotel room has a distinct and over-powering aroma of sauerkraut, but I’m sure someone will find that comforting.

    You live!

No glove. They were really quite friendly for all that they made me sit there for 90 minutes. I suspect they did a pretty throrough search of my car while I was chatting with them–the spare tire was in disarray, so it was definitely checked. While that went on they seemed to mostly be researching my company, and they spent a lot of time chatting with me about computer work as a career path–either it was the most laid back interrogation in history, or else they have nephews who are thinking of doing CS degrees, or something similar.
