Comment spam already?

So far I’m only writing this blog to learn WordPress, so I can use it to implement a blog for a friend.

I admit that, to my surprise, I am enjoying the process, and am now toying with the idea of actually doing this for real.

So far, though, I haven’t told anyone about this, except Alex and Sean.

And I’m already getting comment spam.

And that means that the spam is coming from someone who is making use of the information that shows up in tracking systems that WordPress is setup to ping by default. Bastards. They have to ruin everything.

Still, I guess that means I can learn how to combat comment spam–which I will need to know for that friend’s blog that is still nominally the point of this.
