Hanging Around The House: Latest Updates

I spent a fair bit of time last year trying to document the kinds of stuff I have hanging up around the house. I’ve made a couple of changes recently and I figured I might as well log the update here as well.

The first set of updates is the addition of my recent set of Michel Gagné prints. I quite enjoy Gagné’s stuff, so when he started selling prints I was all over that. (As an aside, Gagné was interviewed this week at The Pulse.)

I put a couple of them up on the fireplace wall in the dining room (where I used to have some photos which have moved to different locations in the house). I don’t have the balance right yet, since I’m currently just using the hooks from the previous images, but you can get the idea:

The lower image is the Mushrooms print:

and the higher image is the “Rex – The Wise” print.

Both of those are framed in a purple wood frame that I think works nicely against the brick, and the slightly purple off-white of the room. (For the record, Trish disagrees).

In the hall outside the kitchen I’ve found a place for the “Rex – Red Friend” print:

And finally, in the downstairs guest bedroom I’ve found a place for the “Rex – The Highest Place” print.

Also in the downstairs, in the hall outside the bedroom, I’ve placed my latest acquisition, something rather more exciting than prints, even ones as locely as Gagné’s: an original Michael Zulli work entitled “The River Queen”. This is my third (or fourth, depending on how you count) original Zulli piece. I’ve had this framed to match the (much larger) Na Tirre Fine piece that’s also hanging downstairs. This piece is a different media than that painting–“tinted graphite” this time, so it’s framed with a matte and glass, unlike the other piece. It looks like this:
