Baby Blog Week: The fastest year ever
Sarah Kathleen McLaren is one year old today.
Damn.
That was the fastest year ever. It’s definitely one of those “seems like it was just 10 minutes ago, but also seems like it was so long ago I don’t remember life before that” situations.
For the record, at age 1, she is awesome.
I bought her a couple of presents, including some toys to teach digital manipulation, some children’s books from Adam’s publicist, and a pony (not a live pony).
She was completely terrified of the pony. I have never seen her so upset before. Photos to follow at some later point.

Happy birthday to Miss Sarah Kathleen McLaren!
(I love the fact that this post is right above pokerpalooza.)

I’m not a parent, but it’s my understanding that your job as a father is to do terrible things with the best intentions, so I congratulate you on the pony. Brilliant!
And I suspect she’ll forgive you someday. Like when she’s thirty-five.

At least now when she’s 12 and tells you she wants a real pony, you can legitimately tell her no. And when she asks “Why?”, you can answer “Because they give you the night terrors.”

Why do I think I am very happy that the work network won’t let me follow that link while the VPN is running?
(It’s not going to be innocent is it–it’s going to be like that creepy robin hood guy…)
