Biblioholism

I know it’s supposed to be a joke, but I can actually say yes to having done all of these:

  • Awakened, the morning after a book-buying spree, unable to remember how many books you bought or how much you spent?
  • Been reprimanded or fired for reading on the job?
  • Become suddenly deeply interested in an obscure topic and immediately bought six or more books on that topic?
  • Had to sit down with your family to discuss your book-buying and reading habits?

Apparently I have a problem. Ironically, I will probably have to buy this book, too.

Don’t think that labelling your problem, and telling people that it’s a disease, is going to make me any more supportive. Isn’t there a support group for families of alcoholics? I need to form one for families of biblioholics.
