They love us, they really love us.

Apparently the insidious Kentuckian1 plan of using false Canadian flags while abroad to smear the international reputation of my nation has not worked.

Canada takes No. 1 spot in global image poll

Canada came out best in a globe-spanning survey of attitudes toward 12 major nations, in a poll released Tuesday. Israel, Iran and the United States were the countries with the most negative image.

As to why the results are like they are?

“It appears that people around the world tend to look negatively on countries whose profile is marked by the pursuit of military power,” said Steven Kull, director of the University of Maryland’s Program on International Policy Attitudes, which conducted the research along with pollster GlobeScan.

…and he went on to say that people around the world tend to look positively on countries known for being overly polite drinkers of beer without a history of invading other countries.

  1. Yeah, I know all you Yanks do this, but I first heard of this foul scheme as being based out of Kentucky.(back)

War of 1812, you wankers! Did you ever pay us back for the White House?

Okay, I guess it doesn’t count as an invasion if we started it. Still, I think Canada owes me a beer.

Hey, I never used Canadian flags, I just told people I _was_ Canadian whenever I had to be rude!

Will, I am assured by Mr. Stemple that Americans could not have lost to Canadians, and thus it follows that the people who responded to the American aggression by burning the White House to the ground must have been British. So, you can get your beer off Neil or something.

Gwenda–how could that plan possibly have worked? Most people who can speak serviceable English will be able to locate your accent nationally, if not regionally.
