Yeah, work is still killing me, so I’m phoning it in. Still, it’s a bargain at the price.

  • Fifty NFB films free on the web. The whole Cat Came Back thing was giving me flashbacks to my childhood, but at fortunately they didn’t do the Log Driver’s Waltz one, so my head didn’t completely implode. [via]
  • I really enjoyed this thread on John Crowley‘s LJ about metaphors rendered obselete (or as Crowley puts it “loses its metaphoric explanatory power as the technology moves on”). I am a total nerd for the stories under language.
  • Interested in a massive list of free courses in aspects of computer science? The education nerd in me loves this about the Internet. If only there were more advanced courses…
  • How is it that I did I not know this historic female was alive until I read about her death? I would totally have visited her. You know, if I got to Australia. And I could have done it without having to see Steve Irwin.

My favourite quote: ‘[Tang] had often forced her husband of three years at swordpoint to carry out her demands.” Hah. There’s only one word for that: “Xianglongshibazhang!
