Heading out to vote.
I am on my way out the door to vote in the federal election.
My plan for tonight is to sit around watching CBC, and getting really drunk. I hope I don’t end up needing the loving oblivion of the bottle, but if the results go the way I (and the pundits) think they will, there’s no way I’m going to face that news sober.
I’ll probably post a drunken rant later. It will probably be in both the ‘political’ and the ‘head-explodes’ categories.

So, apparently there was an Air Farce sketch where they explained the steps you went through to vote. It began something like:
1. Go to the polling station.
2. Hand your polling card to the senior citizen behind the desk.
…
It’s funny because it’s true. I could count on one hand the number of people in the building who were less than 3 decades older than me.

Also true at my polling station–which was pretty much devoid of votes. Apparently two in the afternoon is not the rush hour of voting in the outlying areas of the HRM.
It’s funny because Elections Canada actually pays a decent wage, more than twice the minimum, for the election workers. I’m surprised you don’t see more retail & service employees taking a day off to work the polls for the salary bonus.

Drink and rant! But don’t drive while you’re doing either!

You may have to create a new “drunk, naked, and sobbing” category for you posts.

I read Alex’s post as “drunk, naked, and slobbering”, which I thought was “Head-Explodes”.
