Pointing to CommonBits

So, let’s take a moment to talk about CommonBits. What, you may be asking yourself, is CommonBits?

Well, let’s pinch the answer straight from the site:

What is CommonBits?
CommonBits is a free community directory of progressive political media that anyone can contribute to.
Search for audio, video, photos, reports, transcripts and other files in the directory.
Submit links and files to share with the community. We’ll distribute your files via BitTorrent.
Subscribe to our content feed in your blog reader to keep up with the latest content submissions.

Or, to put that in Chris language: there’s an RSS feed reporting the availability of torrents for retrieving entirely legal bits of progressive content.

For example, remember when I mentioned in the video-in-the-mail posting that two of the films I had recently picked up were the documentaries Outfoxed and Uncovered?

Well, here are two sample items available on CommonBits:

Outfoxed Interviews

Outfoxed Interviews: “Watch some of the interviews from the recent scathing documentary Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism.”

Uncovered Interviews

Uncovered: The War on Iraq – Interviews: “Watch interview from filmmaker Robert Greenwald’s documentary Uncovered: The War on Iraq.”
