Are you a child of the 80s? Well then, you can surely burn a few minutes on the Mr. T. Virtual Playset. Far and away the weirdest part is how completely different the T look if you remove his hair and beard.

Just because I grew up with The A-Team, Knight Rider, and Remington Steele, doesn’t mean that I don’t have love for TV from before those days. In particular, I have been known to sing lengthy praises of The Avengers (especially the 1965-1967 years) and, of course, I am a big ole geek for old school Doctor Who. Well, those “old TV” urges are easily sated by DVDs these days, and I was very pleased to read this week that another of those “old TV” itches was finally going to be scratched: apparently the legal issues surrounding The Man From U.N.C.L.E. have been resolved. I think it’ll be pretty cool to watch 1964 Robert Vaughn one day in TMFU, and then 2007 Robert Vaughn in The Hu$tle the next day.

While I was in Boston my wife bought a pair of purple Crocs for my daughter. Despite my espoused position on Crocs (which my wife essentially ignored, despite her claims that “we talked about it”–yes, we talked about it, no, my position did not change in the discussion) I have to say that the amount that Sarah loves these things makes it impossible to get rid of them now. It’s a fait accompli, and no one could look at a happy two-year old dancing around and talking about how much she likes her “Crock-os” and argue with it.

I don’t usually wear golf shirts, but I would wear this one. In black, of course. I could probably be talked into a couple of these too.

I laughed several times while reading great author Walter Jon Williams‘ quite humorous post on going to an Arlo Guthrie show.

What the concert should have had, if they were interested in re-creating the era, were pipes and joints being passed up and down the rows in the theater. For me, nostalgia does not smell like patchouli.

The ending though, a combination or Arlo and Walter, is serious stuff. I may say more later.

One sound clip comparing Bush/Cheney to Schneider/Wopat is enough to sell me on Patton Oswalt‘s new album.

Sorry about the pause there.
