I suspect the time is nigh for Mangy Jesus and his reign of terror, since portents are amassing: cats lying down with dogs, the night tearing asunder, and Cracker Sean playing aggressively at a tournament.<\/p>\n

Which is to say: I didn’t even make it into the top half of the ranks on this month’s tourney (after winning 2 of the last three). I want to rant about my all-in semi-bluff being called by someone who didn’t even realize what I was representing, and then losing on the river, but that would be childish.<\/p>\n

Instead, let me focus on the positives. I had a lot of fun anyway, and since I missed this week’s regular game being a Dad, and will miss next week’s regular game being a Software Architect, it was really nice of the lads to schedule the tournament for tonight. (We usually have them Saturday, but since tomorrow is my Foxy Mama’s birthday, that was also out for me–I’m being a Good Husband then.)<\/p>\n

Actually, the boys for all their bluster are really a good bunch underneath. Deep, deep underneath.<\/p>\n

That’s a scan of the classy HGPA<\/a> money clip that the boys got me for Christmas. You can’t tell from the scan, but in addition to holding my fat stacks, the clip has a red LED–which has already proved useful in one “crawling under a desk” situation. You can tell from the scan that my scanner is really dirty, and probably need a good cleaning before I use it again.<\/p>\n

I kind of wish I had stayed to see who would take home the money, but–as mentioned elsewhere–after the week I’ve had the chance to get some sleep was not something to miss.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
