{"id":696,"date":"2006-10-08T23:50:56","date_gmt":"2006-10-09T03:50:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/archives\/2006\/10\/08\/busy-weekend\/"},"modified":"2006-10-08T23:50:56","modified_gmt":"2006-10-09T03:50:56","slug":"busy-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/2006\/10\/08\/busy-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"Busy Weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s the Thanksgiving long weekend in Canada, and I am too busy with my family to be blogging about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2006\/10\/07\/AR2006100700892.html?nav=rss_politics\">Cheney&#8217;s latest fearmongering<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/harpers.org\/sb-meet-the-counterterrorism-1158675678.html\">the connections between private industry and counter-terrorism<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sinfest.net\/archive_page.php?comicID=2224\">excellent mockings of the crazy christian lobby<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/reluctantnomad.blogspot.com\/2006\/09\/insults-they-just-dont-make-them-as.html\">fine insults<\/a>, or <a href=\"http:\/\/harpers.org\/sb-six-questions-kate-brown-1158926209.html\">the lessons of Soviet history<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, I&#8217;m spending my time on stuff like this:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2006\/10\/shmoo.jpg\" width=\"354\" height=\"294\" alt=\"Sarah Rides\" title=\"Sarah Rides\" class=\"aligncenter\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(Yes, that is her first time riding. No, she was not at all worried, and seemed quite natural.
