It&#8217;s not insane&#8211;I need more shelf space for my books, and nothing says &#8220;lots of shelf space&#8221; like a nice castle; especially a castle with a tower.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baile.ie\/properties\/ireland\/mayo\/hollymount\/2991\/detail.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2006\/06\/manor_aerial.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"234\" alt=\"Aerial\" title=\"Aerial\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/wp-content\/images\/2006\/06\/manor.jpg\" width=\"198\" height=\"132\" alt=\"Manor\" title=\"Manor\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While I was doing that, I ran across this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baile.ie\/properties\/ireland\/mayo\/hollymount\/2991\/detail.html\">lovely manor house in Ireland<\/a>. It&#8217;s only eleven years old, so you avoid most of the traditional castle problems&#8211;I certainly wouldn&#8217;t be <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/entertainment\/showbiz\/1361749.stm\">fighting with the locals<\/a> about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jeremy-irons.com\/news\/archive\/92.html\">painting my castle pink<\/a>&#8211;and it&#8217;s near Galway, so I could have Paddy Flynn<footnote>Not <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eleniphotos.com\/paddy_flynn.html\">this one<\/a>, the one that&#8217;s currently in the band <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucasade.com\/\">Lucas<\/a>, and used to be in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.basementbar.net\/groovedaddys_bottom_feeder.htm\">Groove<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.basementbar.net\/groovedaddys_sunburn.htm\">Daddys<\/a>, and Mazola Pony.<\/footnote> over for a pint. Also, we did like the West best on our tour of Ireland, and we&#8217;d be only a short drive from where my grandfather was born.<\/p>\n<p>So, I just need to come up with the cash.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and convince Trish to move to Ireland. That might be even harder than coming up with the cash.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and come up with a good philosophical argument for why it&#8217;s not ridiculous to spend that much on a house, so I can discuss it with <a href=\"http:\/\/shetterly.blogspot.com\/\">Will<\/a>.
