I prefer to keep the right to question the merits of the beliefs of others–I’ve never bought into the “I have to respect your opinion, no matter how wrong-headed and baseless it is” shtick. Incidentally, while I’m thinking about how much people who think their private notions of offense trump science annoy me, I should point out how happy I am at the idea of their reaction to the discovery<\/a> that not only are we descended from chimps, but we’re descended from monkey-screwing post-monkeys.<\/footnote>, that doesn’t mean that you do damage to your child’s education, or just ignore hundreds of years of science.
