The list included a number of items “for the kids”. I really liked the idea of starting Sarah’s science education early–why not learn about science along with math and vocabulary, etc–so I decided to order some of these books “sometime”. (I figured the odds of them being in stock at any local store was pretty low.)

However, while making one of my regular passes through the stock at Bookcloseouts.com (that site is responsible for a tremendous number of books arriving in this house over the past few years–Trish is threatening to have a lawyer send them a stern note forbidding them to do any more business with me) I noticed that they had one of the books for a ridiculously low price, so I added it to my order.

The book is pictured over on the right. It arrived today along with a bunch of other stuff (most exciting for me: two Elizabeth Knox books!) and Sarah and I read it tonight.

After this, and our recent visit to the Museum of Natural History, I’m getting quite excited about incorporating science stuff into Sarah’s life.

Can you still buy chemistry sets?

A while back Paul Myers made a list of books for evolutionists.
