\nGlen Hirshberg and photographer Jonas Yip have collaborated on a new audio CD recording of Glen’s story, “Like a Lily in a Flood,” featuring sleeve art designed by Jonas. Limited run of 20 copies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I have the previous recording “Flowers in Their Bridles, Hooves in the Air”. It’s an excellent reading of a great story, which was an edition of 75–and there appear to be a few copies left! I’m looking forward to the new one.<\/p>\n

Why don’t more authors do this? Of course, I only mean the ones who are good readers, as well as good writers–which is a much smaller subset than you might think. Still, I’d pay handsomely for a CD of Graham Joyce<\/a> reading Black Dust<\/a>, for example. I could go on at length with examples, but I’ll spare you.<\/p>\n

I wonder, though, if I could talk Rowe<\/a> into recording some of his Cane County stories. I hear he’s a great reader, and those stories really need to be read in a Kentuck (Kentuckian?) accent. Hell, it doesn’t have to be CDs–it could be a podcast<\/a>, or something on the Jim Kelly<\/a> model. Having readings along with the story notes and text would really kick his “virtual collection<\/a>” up into the geekosphere.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
