RSS feeds are a slithery amphibian progenitor to whatever will eventually walk erect and engage in tool-using warfare.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livejournal.com\/users\/crisper\/\">one of the guys<\/a> who used to make reading Delphi forums fun, and currently makes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-engine.net\/forum\/start.php?webtag=ENGINE\">THE ENGINE<\/a> more interesting than it would be without him.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/wp-content\/divider.gif\" width=\"253\" height=\"20\" alt=\"divider\" title=\"divider\"  class=\"centered\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bustedwonder.com\/exterminus\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/wp-content\/exterminus_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"Sample panel\" class=\"centered\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bustedwonder.com\/exterminus\/\">EXTERMINUS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mmmm&#8230; pretty pictures by <a href=\"http:\/\/bustedwonder.com\/cabinet\">Charity Larrison<\/a> over a story by <a href=\"http:\/\/kierongillen.com\/\">Kieron Gillen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a date movie with Lovecraft and some existential angst.  I love that the Internerd brings me stuff like this for free all the time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/wp-content\/divider.gif\" width=\"253\" height=\"20\" alt=\"divider\" title=\"divider\"  class=\"centered\"\/><\/p>\n<p>I just found out today about <a href=\"http:\/\/theculturalgutter.com\/\">The Cultural Gutter<\/a> (there is a <a href=\"http:\/\/theculturalgutter.com\/index.xml\">feed link<\/a> on that page, but it&#8217;s kind easy to miss), following up some information from a link about Jim Munroe (he of <a href=\"http:\/\/nomediakings.org\/buy.htm\">An Opening Act of Unspeakable Eviland other books<\/a>, as well as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nomediakings.org\/\">No Media Kings<\/a> empire) who writes for it.<\/p>\n<p>Without even really digging into the archives I see reviews of <a href=\"http:\/\/theculturalgutter.com\/sciencefiction\/the_bandwagon.html\">the latest Leguin YA<\/a>, of <a href=\"http:\/\/theculturalgutter.com\/sciencefiction\/crashing_the_party.html\">Stephenson&#8217;s Snow Crash<\/a>, a piece on <a href=\"http:\/\/theculturalgutter.com\/comics\/mcluhans_cool_comics.html\">Marshall McLuhan and comics<\/a>, an <a href=\"http:\/\/theculturalgutter.com\/videogames\/the_sociable_horde.html\">interview<\/a> between Munroe &#038; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seanstewart.org\/\">Sean Stewart<\/a>, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Seems worth some time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/wp-content\/divider.gif\" width=\"253\" height=\"20\" alt=\"divider\" title=\"divider\"  class=\"centered\"\/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure I can summarize this in any way.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/delong.typepad.com\/sdj\/2005\/10\/unleash_chiang_.html\">George and Jeb Bush are idiots.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Even if you already agree with that statement, read the link&#8211;it&#8217;s a new kind of evidence rather than just more incompetence on parade. This is evidence of ignorance of world history, the history of their party,  and metaphor.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/wp-content\/divider.gif\" width=\"253\" height=\"20\" alt=\"divider\" title=\"divider\"  class=\"centered\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"hobo\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.areasofmyexpertise.com\/hoboes.html\">700 Hobo Names, read by the author.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>An MP3, almost an hour long, of dude reading 700 hobo names. Strangely compelling.<\/p>\n<p>I had lots of favourites, but in the end I&#8217;m torn between the hobo calling himself &#8216;Black Bold, Lord of the Inhumans&#8217; [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.marveldirectory.com\/individuals\/b\/blackbolt.htm\">ref<\/a>] and the one calling himself &#8220;Fatman and the Creature&#8221;. <font size=\"-3\">(Note: there is no creature.)<\/font><\/p>\n<p>If someone would be kind enough to break this up into 70 small files with 10 names in each (roughly, don&#8217;t break up any themed runs of names) I would absolutely include these files in my mixes. He<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sk8jesus.com\/\"> occasionally blogs<\/a> about what it&#8217;s like working in television production, and the postings are always deadly funny, in that &#8220;wow, that is one fucked-up industry&#8221; way.<\/p>\n<p>He had a great post recently about interacting with the network censors on a kid&#8217;s television show, that he had to take down.
