Many disparate things have come together to activate deeply stored things in my brain.<\/p>\n

First there was a PvP strip<\/a> that actually made me laugh. My immediate reaction was to adopt the name “Muppet Jesus” for my career as a hiphop artist.<\/p>\n

Secondly there is the constant reinforcement from the world of politics that there is no use for objective truth anymore. Obviously the whole “reality-based community” has known about this in US politics for years, but I want to believe we’re different and better. Sadly, it seems Mr. Harper is perfectly happy to take a page from Atwater\/Rove<\/a> and play the talking points game.<\/p>\n

So, if I were to have a hiphop career, and I were an artist with Jesus in my name, I might want to start out with a cover\/remix of something from back in the day. And if I were thinking about lying, and how the world has no respect for truth… Well, the track I’d have to cover is suddenly a no-brainer. It’s a track that’s been in my collection for 18 years, since I accidentally ran into the genius of it because of where I did Shad Valley, my first high school crush, a Sarah McLachlan concert, and a label’s sampler<\/a>.<\/p>\n
