While I was driving today, I took the opportunity to listen to Tom Barlow’s eponymous album<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I’ve mentioned the album here a couple of time before, embedding the song Billion Dollar Rockets in a previous post<\/a>, and also discussing How Low Can You Get<\/a> and Married By Elvis<\/a> in some other posts.<\/p>\n

So I did a little YouTube digging when I got here to see what videos might be available. I found one I hadn’t seen before, for another of the great songs on that album. Allow me to present Walk Away<\/a>:<\/p>\n

He’s borrowing a bit from Oscar, eh? There’s really not a bad song on that album, and I haven’t got tired of it yet. It’s kind of tragic that it didn’t make more of a mark. Especially since I’m not really thrilled with his new project<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You can also see videos for Married By Elvis<\/a> (in the running for my favourite video) and Perfect Wave<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And now, just for fun, a few more Canadian tunes I was listening to on the drive.<\/p>\n

In the “windows down, driving fast, play it loud” category, we have Atlantic Canadian rockers, The Trews<\/a>, with “Not Ready To Go<\/a>“:<\/p>\n

(A possible alternate choice would be “So She’s Leaving<\/a>“, but the YouTube encode is very quiet, and it’s very much a “play it loud” song.)<\/p>\n

In the “pretty damn great animated video” category, we’ve got Halifax hiphop crew Universal Soul<\/a> with their old school paen “Way Back In The Day”:<\/p>\n

In the “Uncategorizable, but awesome song” category, we’ve got Blackie and the Rodeo Kings<\/a> with what’s apparently a (justifiably) shelved video for “Stoned<\/a>“:<\/p>\n

And finally, I couldn’t pick some Canadians without including Danny<\/a>, so here’s his surreal luchadore tune “14 Masks Of Danger<\/a>“, in a live performance:<\/p>\n
