How is it that four years have gone by so fast?<\/p>\n

Does it really only take four years to turn a gang-sign throwing newborn into a young lady who uses facepaints to make herself into a tiger?<\/p>\n

I found myself at breakfast this morning with the birthday girl, her mom, and her grandfather. During a moment alone with my father-in-law I commented “How do I have a four year old? How does that make sense?” He looked me straight in the eye and shot back “How do I have a thirty-four year old?” Which just goes to show, I guess, that we’re all faking it to some degree, and none of us think of ourselves as being old enough for where we are in life.<\/p>\n

The good news is that being four appears to be a very good thing from the perspective of the new four year old. Happy Birthday, kiddo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
