(Yes, I have lots of “not a t-shirt” clothing, but remember I work at home, so I really only need that stuff for going out.) As part of that project I should take a moment to mention on here how happy I am with my recent order of some shirts from the Retropolis Transit Authority.

I ordered four different designs for myself, as well as a matched pair for Trish and Sarah.

You should totally go browse the site, but here’s my commentary on the stuff I ordered:

First there was this one, which I ordered because I have been known to exclaim the very phrase it carries, or variants thereof:

Second was this one, which I ordered primarily because it’s a variation on an old gag from Mooney’s modules that always made Iron Doug laugh:

Third was this one, which goes nicely with my recently acquired Official Girl Genius goggles (although I prefer to think of them as my Offical Mad Genius goggles, honestly):

Here’s the one a little closer so you can read the text:

Note: I do have a death ray, and I do know how to use it. However, it’s that final tagline that really makes the shirt.

Fourth, and clearly the best of all (indeed, in my hot-so-humble opinion, the best thing at RTA) is this one:

Here’s the closeup on that one:

This shirt has won me kudos on several occasions, including props from the McAuslan people at the Beerfest this weekend–including my being able to negotiate some St. Ambroise + Strongbow experiments from them (and they had the best shirts there with the Virtuvian Pint design, by the way). Actually some random dude at the beerfest stopped to pose with me for a photo because he liked my t-shirt so much. (Trish, incidentally, was somewhat put out that random guy would rather have been in a photo with me than her).

Sarah and Trish got a matching pair in this design:

Trish seems quite pleased with hers, but Sarah absolutely refuses to wear her smaller, pinker version. “I don’t want to take over the world and boss people around,” she says very adamantly.

After four years of wearing only solid colourMostly black, I admit. t-shirts for everyday wear–primarily a habit I developed during my daughter’s infancy, as between her and I several shirts a day were suffering various stains, and I wanted cheap, “hot swappable” clothing–I am starting to pick up a few new interesting printed shirts.
