{"id":1102,"date":"2008-01-24T00:15:37","date_gmt":"2008-01-24T04:15:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/24\/ambivalence\/"},"modified":"2008-03-31T23:39:58","modified_gmt":"2008-04-01T03:39:58","slug":"ambivalence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.chrismclaren.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/24\/ambivalence\/","title":{"rendered":"Ambivalence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the one hand, I am really looking forward to being home.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand I am really not looking forward to the process of getting home.<\/p>\n<p>My flight leaves Melbourne in two hours, then it&#8217;s 7 hours to Singapore, a 2 hour wait, then 14 and a half hours to London, then a 6 hour wait, then 7 hours back to Halifax. So that&#8217;s, what, around 38.5 hours till I touch down in Nova Scotia if all goes well?<\/p>\n<p>At this point I&#8217;ve been awake today for around 8.5 hours, so that&#8217;ll be 47 hours awake if I don&#8217;t sleep on this trip, which seems to be pretty much what happens. Tack on another hour and a bit to clear customs, get my luggage, get out of the airport, etc, and I am going to be a right mess by the time I get home.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, at least I have access to the business class lounges, so I can spend this time sucking up the free wireless and having some really good stilton.
