(I.e. I&#8217;d rather hear the Clash perform this than any other song. But, I&#8217;d still rather hear <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dannymichel.com\/\">Danny Michel<\/a> do <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lost_in_the_Supermarket\">Lost In A Supermarket<\/a>.)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Warren_Zevon\">Warren Zevon<\/a>&#8216;s Hollywood tragedy. I love a song with a story, especially if there&#8217;s enough vagueness to allow me to make up a few stories that all fit.<\/li>\n<li>The inimitable <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utelemper.com\/\">Ute Lemper<\/a> performing a song that begins with the murder of love and goes all noir procedural from there. (As an aside, I love the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gFub0OsDtHw\">relatively simple video<\/a> for this tune&#8211;primarily because it makes explicit the menace I always found in Lemper&#8217;s delivery of the &#8220;I hope one day you&#8217;ll know just what I&#8217;ve been though&#8221; line.)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jim_White_%28musician%29\">Jim White<\/a>. Good ole Jim White. He&#8217;s making a fresh start, and nobody better get in his way. I absolutely love this extended bit: &#8220;<em>I don&#8217;t want no hoodoos, no voodoo gurus, no spooked out priesty-beasty, no strippers with pasties, self-professed saviors of my soul, no low-down top-secret CIA moles, no crackpot psychopathic behavior specialists, no shriners, no shiners, no decisive moment existentialists, that&#8217;s right, no vegetable, no mineral, no institution gonna disrupt the constitution of my ingenious hairdo solution<\/em>&#8220;. In fact, were I still wearing shirts with things written on them, I might well wear <a href=\"http:\/\/123619.spreadshirt.com\/us\/US\/Shop\/Article\/Index\/article\/2684014\">a shirt<\/a> that was based on some of this.<\/li>\n<li>You gotta have a little <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Phil_Lynott\">Lynott<\/a> to keep you going into the weekend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"excerpt\">And here you have: My favourite Clash song when considering performances by the Clash.
