David Quantick is one of the best writers/broadcasters to emerge from the 80/early 90's UK music press (Simon Reynolds being one of the others: http://blissout.blogspot.com/), and it is nice to have someone with a proper regional accent on national radio!

I listen to BBC radio a lot, but still find I miss things, so was pleased to find this blog: http://speechification.com, which is cherry-picking some of the best speech radio from the BBC, mostly Radio 4, which as a station is one of the pinnacles of British achievement. There is some good stuff there (Stephen Fry on the history of German technology and its use in music recording is fantastic).
