		<description>In Doom 3, your character would pick up PDAs and such from dead scientists and find the codes to unlock various weapons lockers.  All the journals usually included a few funny spam messages as well -- but near the end there were some secret codes hidden in the spams, ostensibly from a scientist passing info to a friend and hiding it from prying eyes.  No encoding, so not quite the same thing, but close in that the messages were placed where you would most likely ignore them.</description>
