Take down that scam, kids!

Remember last year when a bunch of SF writers got together to prove that PublishAmerica was a vanity publishing operation, not any kind of real publisher? (See more info here or here.)

You might remember that I even bought a copy of the book they submitted–I really tried to read it, but it was so unendurably bad that I couldn’t get through any of the chapters, even though I was enjoying the awfulness.

Well, apparently The Screenplay Agency is the PublishAmerica of screenplays, and a similar humourous vigilante action to prove it has been carried out.

Oh God, is this funny. It’s like Query Letters I Love meets the masterwork of Travis Tea.

Look at these loglines, that The Screenplay Agency accepted for development:

“WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THIRTEEN TWELVE YEAROLDS FIND A RED BIKE AND A MYSTIC CRYSTAL OUTSIDE OF THE SCHOOL DOORS ONE DAY? AN DAVENTURE OF MISTICAL PROPORTIONS!”

its the story of an ice cube that every time he feels happy it make him melt a liitle bit more

Go read all the awesome details at Making Light.

Oh god!, it gets better:

The astounding conclusion of the “Friendship Alley” story comes in I Spy Pt. 4 (of 3): The Saga Comes To An End…. What happens when “Danny Broderick” tries to call “Sherry Fine” on the phone? You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll struggle to control of your sphincters!
